Best Podium Presentation

Derek B. Fox, DVM. Correction of radial deformities via dome osteotomy utilizing a biradial saw and the center of rotation of angulation (CORA) methodology. This talk was presented at the 32nd Annual Conference of the Veterinary Orthopaedic Society in March 2005 at Aspen, Colorado.

 

Alavi-Mendell Award

Stephanie C. Essman, DVM. Dr. Stephanie Essman recently received the Alavi-Mendell Award for her paper published in The Journal of Nuclear medicine entitled, The effects of 153-samarium-EDTMP on physeal and articular cartilage in juvenile rabbits.

This work was done in collaboration with the Comparative Orthopaedic Laboratory in 2003.  This paper was selected from 9,000 others and the award recognizes contributions of authors in training at the time of publication.  This work is of particular importance as being the only award winning paper in 2002-2003 that was first-authored by a veterinarian.

 

U of M Health Sciences Research Day Award

Brandon Roller. This award was received for outstanding research in a poster presentation, Correlation of clinical assessment of meniscal pathology to biochemical and molecular analyses.
