Our second benefit for arthritis research, Harvest of Hope, was held on November 10, 2007 at the University’s Old Alumni Center, and was a wonderful celebration and successful fundraising event for the COL. Dr. Wayne McIlwraith, the evening’s keynote speaker, presented “Mountaineering and Equine Research – There is a Connection”, an enthralling summary of his experiences in climbing some of the most treacherous and awe-inspiring mountains in the world. He was also able to tie in his groundbreaking work in arthritis research showing us how his life experiences motivated his passion for making a difference in the lives of horses and humans through advancements in treatments for joint diseases. His stories and pictures astonished and inspired the enrapt audience. It was truly a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for those that attended and all agreed that it was an amazing evening!
